Planetary defender
Near-Earth object (25916) 2001 CP44
Thanks to UniStellar and their eVScope starting today I can call myself now a planetary defender.
I participated in the spot the near-earth asteroid campaign.
25916 (2001CP44) is estimated to be 5.68 kilometres in diameter. For reference, an impact from a one km asteroid could be enough to destroy a continent; the Chicxulub impact that wiped out the dinosaurs 66 million years ago were caused by an asteroid 10 km wide.
